Aashka has extensive experience supporting local and regional resilience efforts in communities with diverse capacities, resources and planning contexts. She enables informed decision making by focusing on developing actionable insights, enhancing governance capacity, fostering collaborative relationships and centering social equity. As the Director of Resilience Practice at Fernleaf, Aashka leads the team in advancing Fernleaf’s approaches to supporting decision makers in building resilience equitably and strategically. In this role, she also cultivates strategic partnerships in alignment with the Company’s core values and mission.
Her approach to consulting in the public sector is heavily influenced by her background in theory and practice of climate services and decision making under uncertainty that she acquired during her time with Carolinas Integrated Sciences and Assessments (a lab funded by NOAA) as a doctoral researcher. She holds a Master’s in Earth and Environment Resource Management from University of South Carolina.
