As CFO, Isaac is responsible for the day-to-day financial operations, reporting, financing, and long-range planning for Fernleaf.
Isaac is a licensed CPA who has spent 15 years in the finance and accounting industry. In the two years prior to joining Fernleaf, Isaac provided consulting services to venture-backed startups. These fast-growing startups required valuation expertise to help them raise institutional capital or establish internal equity compensation plans.
Isaac’s career began at the consulting giant Deloitte during the global financial crisis. At this time, he helped distressed businesses deal with liquidity issues caused by burdensome pension liabilities and debt. Financial modeling and forecasting was critical for these businesses, which ranged from family-owned auto suppliers to Fortune 500 companies. When the economy recovered, Isaac took a role in the investment industry where his financial modeling background proved useful. He has since held posts as the Controller and Director of Finance for a family investment office. He has also helped build an independent investment advisory practice from scratch. He is an active member in the Asheville startup community through Hatch AVL.
Isaac grew up in south Texas and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Accountancy.
