Lindsey Nystrom is a GIS Manager at Fernleaf, where they lead the company’s geospatial initiatives to advance climate resilience through innovative & adaptive vulnerability assessments. With a degree in Environmental Equity and a minor in American Indian and Indigenous Studies from UNC Asheville (Class of 2022), Lindsey brings a unique perspective that combines their expertise in GIS, environmental justice, and climate resilience.
Lindsey joined Fernleaf as an intern in 2021, after spending three years gaining invaluable experience as a GIS Intern at the National Environmental Modeling and Analysis Center (NEMAC). They have also been involved in fossil fuel divestment work, sustainability advocacy through the Second Nature Carbon Commitment at UNC Asheville, and GIS consulting in the non-profit space. Passionate about data-driven decision-making and climate justice, Lindsey is dedicated to building solutions that help communities and organizations adapt to climate challenges with resilience and equity at the forefront.
Outside of work, Lindsey enjoys weightlifting, petting dogs, and eating pineapple snow cones.
