Fernleaf worked with the City of New Bern to develop a Resiliency and Hazard Mitigation Plan aimed at enhancing overall community resilience, gaining a better understanding of flood risk within the community, and identifying potential flood mitigation solutions. Fernleaf played a key role in this project by providing the vulnerability assessment. This assessment examined multiple types of flood threats, including rainfall and riverine, major storm surge, and tidal (sunny day) flood inundation. Additionally, the vulnerability of community assets was assessed, including homes and businesses, critical facilities and road access, jobs, and historic resources.
